Staddle Table
Studio George, Daniel Bradley
This coffee table is based on ageing staddle stones found in the English country side. Lopsided weathered shapes inspire the base’s form, with material removed from the centre of the pedestal to create a connection for the cross strut foot – and a nice spot to rest your feet.
George says the staddle table is inspired by memories of “sitting on moss-laden, mushroom-shaped staddle stones as kids, and researching how they were used as stilts for barn structures. It felt fun to look at a contemporary take on a weird and wonderful British design from yesteryear.”
Daniel and George are long-time collaborators, working together to produce beautiful bespoke kitchens and other joinery, as well as creating thoughtfully crafted pieces of furniture, for clients and for fun.
The piece is available with different table tops, including York Stone. Please enquire for more information.
The staddle table can be left outdoors, but Daniel recommends using a bespoke cover in the winter months. Please enquire for further information. Re-oiling once a year is also advisable.
