Tom Faulkner’s Lily planter – exclusive to Them Outdoors – takes its name from the floating aquatic plant. The fluid, organic form and free-flowing silhouette of the planter is in keeping with Tom’s clean and unfussy approach to design.

“The quality of any piece is in the line, proportion, and detail” reflects Tom. The nature-inspired planters are an extension of Tom’s exceedingly popular Lily Collection.

All of Tom’s pieces are made by hand in his workshop in Swindon, Wiltshire. To create the fluid curves of the Lily planter, the metal sides are rolled and welded in to shape, and then all welds are cleaned up.

This rusted planter is fabricated out of cor-ten steel (weathering steel). It is a high-strength, low-alloy steel that develops a stable and beautiful, rust-like patina when left outside. This protective layer actually prevents further corrosion, making it highly durable and low-maintenance.
