In daylight the cast aluminium body of Lewis Kemmenoe’s Leaf Wall Sconce acts as a botanical canvas – depicting a patchwork of leaves that reflects its natural surroundings. At night it becomes a beautiful backlit wall light.

“This light is a combination of my personal design language, with the additional aspect of the ‘outside’” reflects Lewis. “My work often references the organic materials of which it is made, but in this piece is makes a nod to the form of the natural world.”

Lewis’ process for making these involves using sand-casted aluminium that has been poured into a hand drawn impression on wax. The individual pieces have then been patch-worked together and affixed to an aluminium sheet. The final stage is hand polishing.

The Leaf Wall Sconce will change in patina, slightly dulling over time as it is exposed to the elements. If you’d like to maintain the original polished state then this can be achieved through the use of metal polish.

Each edition of the Leaf Wall Sconce is hand made and therefore will be slightly different. The sconce will be supplied with hardware and fitting instructions.
