Fata Morgana

Alice-Andrea Ewing

‘Fata Morgana’ relates to a series of drawings made in Aldeburgh, Suffolk near where the artist lives. Linear in form, this delicate and otherwordly sculpture is first constructed from wax, wood and reeds, then cast ‘directly’ using an adaptation of the Italian or Renaissance Lost Wax process to create a unique design.

This small but impactful piece of work lends itself to being a centre point on a dining table or perched on a low garden wall. Various security fixings are available depending on final installation site.

Due to Alice’s process each edition will be have its own unique variations.

The bronze patina of this sculpture will be affected by the elements, we encourage you to enjoy this beautiful natural process –  it won’t affect the structural integrity of the piece. Periodic re-application of black wax will help protect the surface as will the occasional ‘buff’ with a dry cotton cloth.
