About Them Outdoors

Them Outdoors is a new home for design-led garden furniture, sculpture and planters, made by artists, designers and craftspeople in the UK.

Our online gallery brings together a carefully selected group of creatives working in an exciting variety of crafts and materials, from shell-covered zinc to cleft oak planters, aluminium stools, bronze sculptures, jesmonite bird baths, marble tables and ceramic tableware.

Our aim is to cast garden furniture in a new light, and introduce anyone with an interest in the design of outdoor spaces; garden owners, curators, collectors, interior designers, garden designers and so forth – to new materials, processes and makers who’s work can spark conversations, quietly challenge preconceptions, or simply bring more beauty to a garden of any style or size.

Many of our artists are showing their work outside for the first time. Others are more familiar with having gardens as their backdrop. Either way, we’re thrilled to be able to provide a considered and story-filled platform for their exceptional work.

Our launch collection is a combination of pieces that have been exhibited here in the UK and internationally in galleries, sculpture parks, private gardens and show gardens – as well as pieces made exclusively for Them Outdoors.

The Founder

Them Outdoors was founded by garden designer and writer Tabi Jackson Gee. Tabi is an award winning garden designer based in Wiltshire, who works across the UK and abroad. Tabi also regularly contributes to The Financial Times and House & Garden, reflecting on landscape design, gardens and their place within wider cultural conversations.

Throughout her career Tabi has worked on many residential and commercial projects with interior designers and architects, and always felt there was a need a for a thoughtful and creative space – where clients and professionals alike could find inspirational, design-led outdoor furniture – to compliment their indoor equivalents.

Much has been made of the recent craft revival, as well as the increasingly blurred boundaries between art, craft and furniture. It is Tabi’s belief that outdoor furniture and art have an important role to play in this cultural sea change. By both celebrating and honouring the past, and pushing boundaries for what is possible with new materials, new processes and new ways of thinking.
